The Great Transformation: On the Future of Modern Societies
The conference "The Great Transformation: On the Future of Modern Societies" is organised by the DFG-funded research group "Kolleg Postwachstumsgesellschaften Landnahme, Acceleration, Activation: The (De-)Stabilisation of Modern Growth Societies" and the German Sociological Association.
The event, which combines the 2nd Regional Conference of the German Sociological Association with the final conference of the DFG research group, will take place from 23 to 27 September 2019, at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena (Germany).
Until 31 May 2019 the early bird registration at a reduced rate is available. The booking period prior to the conference will end on 31 August 2019. In September weekly passes and day tickets can only be purchased on the conference website.
Keynote speakers are Margaret S. Archer, Lucio Baccaro, Gurminder K. Bhambra, Karina Batthyány, Regina Becker-Schmidt, Luc Boltanski, Massimo De Angelis, Arnaud Esquerre, James K. Galbraith, Philip S. Gorski, Branko Milanović, Geograph Jason W. Moore, Evgeny Morozov, Wolfgang Streeck, Maristella Svampa, Philip Thers.
