The 9th ESA conference was held in the University of Lisbon on Sept. 2nd-5th, 2009. 

Organizing institutions were: the Instituto Superior de Ciencias do Trabalho e da Empresa (ISCTE) together with Instituto de Ciencias Sociais of the University of Lisbon and the Faculdade de Ciencias Sociais e Humanas of the New University of Lisbon.
